Zhang Xiaofeng, male, born in 1962, he is currently a professor and doctoral supervisor in Wuhan University. In 1989, he got his Ph.D. degree in hydraulics and river dynamics from Wuhan University. In 1993, he went to University of Edinburgh, UK as a visiting scholar. In 1997-1999, he studied in the disaster prevention research institute at Kyoto University, Japan. He is serving as council member of Hubei Society of Hydropower Engineering. Dr Zhang specializes in basic theory of sediment movement and fluvial process, numerical theory of flow and sediment transport, dam-break flood simulation and ecological amelioration of rivers. He has published more than 120 papers in academic journals, including Geomorphology, Environmental Fluid Mechanics and Ocean Modeling. Dr Zhang has edited two university textbooks as chief editor and editor respectively. He has presided over the compiling of one engineering specification, and took charge of one international cooperate research project, three projects supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China ( NSFC) and a number of projects from industry.
