Male, born in Wu Xue, Hubei province in September 1974, Wu Jingwei is a doctor and associate professor. From 1993 to 1993, he has studied in Wuhan University of hydraulic and electric engineering, majoring in irrigation and water conservancy engineering and received his bachelor and master's degree.

From 2003 to 2007, funded by the French government scholarship, he studied in French national forestry, water and environment engineering school (Ecole nationale du génie rural des eaux et des forêts, ENGREF) and in French national research center of agriculture, forests and water. He achieved professional doctorate of water science in ENGREF and doctorate of water resources and hydropower engineering in Wuhan University.

Since June 2000, he came to teach at water conservancy department of School of Water Resources and Hydropower Engineering in Wuhan University, and was hired as associate professor of Wuhan University in 2007. From June 2010 to July 2011 he visited and researched in Charles Sturt University in Australia.

Research interests mainly include soil water and groundwater resources and environment and 3S technology application.

Professor Wu has hosted and undertaken not only a number of productive scientific research task of important water resources and hydropower engineering, but also longitudinal issues such as the National Natural Science Foundation, the national major fundamental research plan 973 project subject, national science and technology support plan, national 863 program, China-Europe major science and technology cooperation projects and the French government doctoral fund. He has published more than 30 scientific papers.
