Dr. Wang Xiugui is a professor of irrigationi and drainage for School of Water Resources and Hydropower, Wuhan University. He is also the director of Agricultural Water and Soil Engineering Branch of Hubei Provincial Society of Agricultural Engineering.

Wang Xiugui holds a doctorate in water conservancy and hydropower engineering (2003) in Wuhan University. He also holds a master’s (1988) and a bachelor’s (1985) in irrigation and drainage engineering from Wuhan University of Hydraulic & Electrical Engineering (WUHEE), China. From 2000 to 2001, he studied in Instute for Water Eduction (UNESCO-IHE) in the Netherlands as a visiting scholar with the fellowship of China Scholarship Council (CSC).

He is an expert in farmland drainage with a specialization in controlled drainage and agricultural water management. He has extensive experiences in irrigation and draiange systems planning, water project benefit-cost analysis, irrigation and drainage experiments at field scales.
